Climate Responsibility

At Vélo IBIKE, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint. While cycling is an inherently eco-friendly mode of transportation, we recognize that a bike shop can generate a significant amount of waste. That’s why we’ve implemented several initiatives to minimize our environmental impact:

• Reducing Waste: We work continuously with our suppliers to reduce packaging materials and replace single-use plastics with biodegradable alternatives. We also reuse packing materials when we ship products to you. If you receive a shipment in a non-branded box, it’s because we’re giving it a second life, which is good for the planet and helps us cut down on your shipping costs.
• Eco-Friendly Cleaning: We use biodegradable, environmentally compatible cleaning products for all our repairs and tune-ups, even if they cost more. We also make these products available for you to purchase. Additionally, we use ultrasonic cleaners to minimize the need for harsh chemicals.
• Waste Management: We donate used parts that are still in good condition to local bike co-ops, reducing the need for new parts to be manufactured. For cleaning, we use last-usage cotton rags instead of disposable paper towels, giving old textiles a final purpose before they are discarded.
