The History of Vélo IBIKE Montreal

Founded in 2010, Vélo IBIKE Montreal first opened its doors on Rachel Street in Montreal. In 2018, we expanded with a second store in Cowansville.

In 2025, a new chapter began for Vélo IBIKE Montreal when it was acquired by Renato and Roberta Cardoso. The company’s strong identity, rooted in track racing and a love for fixed-gear bikes, remains at our core. We’ve strengthened our partnerships with major velodromes across Canada, increasing our support for the growth of cycling in the country. IBIKE Montreal continues to be a community-focused shop, with a dedicated, permanent staff and a commitment to organizing activities that support our local community.

IBIKE stands for cycling as a movement towards a better world. We believe in our responsibility to unite our staff, clients, and suppliers in acts of kindness. As a social enterprise, we are committed to providing our staff with stable compensation that exceeds minimum requirements. We work with our staff and suppliers to minimize our carbon footprint by selecting sustainable materials and promoting a circular economy. We are also dedicated to giving back to underprivileged communities, helping to provide not only access to cycling but also to basic necessities.
